Zero Point Recipes for Chicken and Turkey

On the new Weight Watchers plan chicken breast, turkey breast, ground chicken breast, and 99% lean ground turkey all having zero points. That makes them a no brainer when it comes to building zero or low point meals. Think about flavoring the chicken or turkey with spices and fresh herbs that are also free. Then you can use cooking spray for cooking without adding points. Then add some veggies, a big salad, beans, or lentils to finish your meal.

Ones and Zeros - Recipes

We'd like to start out by apologizing for the lateness of this episode. We're still here, still making content, and intend to keep it up.

In this slightly-less-board-gamey-than-usual episode we ate some crunchy snacks spelled with an unnecessary "Z" and hit up Steam to play a couple of party games that are similar to but not actually part of the Jackbox series of games. Also, we fell in love with the colonel.

We ate some puffed crunch products that may or may not have contained a tornado. Or a nacho. But definitely not a tornacho, which is good because those things can drive a tortilla chip right through a telephone pole.

This game was well-named we have to give it that. It was a Jackbox-style game without nearly as much style.

This is another Jackbox-style game, but this one had so much style that it should've come with its own runway. Who knew that there were better subtitles to be had than "DO NOT WANT"? Smiling Buddha Games did, that's who.

SURPRISE NON-LIVE-PLAY GAME

Oh my, are you ever in for a treat. I know we were. We hope you're hungry, because this review is finger-lickin' good. Seriously though, you might want to pause the podcast once you hear the name of this game, download the game, and spend far too long playing it before you continue listening to our spoilers. Trust us: play this game. It's worth every minute.

Here's The Difference Between Diet Coke, Coke Zero And Coke Zero Sugar

The Coca-Cola Company announced in 2017 that it was going to discontinue Coke Zero and replace it with Coke Zero Sugar to give it an “even better unique blend of flavors” than what gave “Coke Zero its real Coca-Cola taste.”

Even though the whole release seemed more like a marketing move than an actual new product release, people were not too pleased with the news. (Ahem, they were livid.) We can’t claim to know the motivation behind the release, but one thing’s for sure: Coca-Cola got in on the anti-sugar train right on time.

This upset got us thinking: what is the actual difference between Diet Coke, Coke Zero and Coke Zero Sugar? If you look at the ingredients between the three, they aren’t actually all that different. And, in fact, Coke Zero and Coke Zero Sugar have exactly the same ingredient list.

Here’s the list of ingredients in Diet Coke:

Carbonated water, caramel color, aspartame, phosphoric acid, potassium benzoate, natural flavors, citric acid, caffeine.

Here’s the list of ingredients in Coke Zero:

Carbonated water, caramel color, phosphoric acid, aspartame, potassium benzoate, natural flavors, potassium citrate, acesulfame potassium, caffeine.

And here’s the list of ingredients in Coke Zero Sugar:

Carbonated water, caramel color, phosphoric acid, aspartame, potassium benzoate, natural flavors, potassium citrate, acesulfame potassium, caffeine,

Diet Coke is missing two ingredients that the other two sugar-free options have: potassium citrate and acesulfame potassium. Acesulfame potassium is a calorie-free sugar substitute and potassium citrate is a common additive in beverages.

How do these ingredients differentiate them nutritionally? Not at all, actually.

  • Diet Coke’s nutritional information reads: 0 Calories, 0g Fat, 40mg Sodium, 0g Total Carbs, 0g Protein.
  • Coca-Cola Zero’s nutritional information reads: 0 Calories, 0g Fat, 40mg Sodium, 0g Total Carbs, 0g Protein.
  • And Coca-Cola Zero Sugar also reads: 0 Calories, 0g Fat, 40mg Sodium, 0g Total Carbs, 0g Protein.

But what about the difference in flavor between the drinks?

Many diet soda drinkers swear their allegiance to either Diet Coke or Coke Zero (now Coke Zero Sugar), but in a previous taste test that HuffPost did between Diet Coke and Coke Zero back in 2012, only 54 percent of tasters were able to tell the difference between Diet Coke and Coke Zero.

Now, Coke Zero Sugar claims to taste just like Coke Zero, but the verdict is still out:

I'm concerned the tweaked #CokeZeroSugar will not taste good. The colas have a terrible record for changing recipes.https://t.co/ug8fYiy51J

They replaced #cokezero with #cokezerosugar in Canada a few months ago. It's every bit as good. better even. Be not afeared.

Here is my official #CokeZeroSugar review. It does not taste like #CokeZero It tastes more like regular Coke. It's not bad. Its different

&mdash Phil Colvin (@Phil_Colvin) July 30, 2017

[email protected] Surprisingly lives up to the promise and does rate much closer to regular Coke. Bravo @CocaCola #CokeZeroSugar #cokezero pic.twitter.com/aFelwAQt2f

Serves One to Two

One cup non-fat plain Greek Yogurt

1 TBSP fresh dill, chopped

1 TBSP fresh chives, chopped

Measure one cup non-fat plain Greek yogurt and put it in a small mixing bowl. Chop fresh dill and chives. Finely mince one half garlic clove. Add dill, chives and garlic to yogurt. Squeeze juice from one half lemon and add to yogurt mix. Season with salt, pepper and minced onion. Mix well. Serve with your choice of vegetables. I prefer rainbow carrots and cauliflower with this dip. Enjoy your zero points dip!
