  • white wheat flour 500 g.,

  • caster sugar 2 tbsp, approx
  • dry yeast 1 sachet,
  • water 400 ml,
  • sunflower oil + 3 tablespoons olives,
  • for the filling:

RECIPE PREPARATION Appetizer croissants:

Put the water, sifted flour, salt, sugar, oil and yeast in the bread machine container (Attention! Keep this order if you want the dough to rise !!!) Program the kneading and leavening machine, which lasts 90 minutes. Spread the dough in a circular shape, portion it, then add a piece of sliced ​​cheese and sausage to each slice. Roll from "head to tail", place the croissants in a heat-resistant tray, grease with beaten egg, sprinkle with iodized salt and seeds. Bake over medium heat, approx. 30 minutes. It can be served hot or cold. Good job and good appetite!



Lent appetizer made from peppers stuffed with caviar

Sounds very strange when you think of one fasting appetizer with caviar, but they are really very tasty. Of course, they will not contain any traces of fish caviar, but there is no need.

1 cup semolina
3 cups tomato juice
2-3 onions
salt, pepper, oil

Take the tomato juice and put it on the fire to boil. When this happens, start adding semolina gradually and in the rain. Mix the semolina with the tomato juice until it starts to swell. When it has swelled well, remove it from the heat and let it cool. Then gradually add oil and rub the semolina well, as you do with mayonnaise. It remains your choice how pasty you want the semolina to become. Depending on this you determine how much oil you add. It is preferable not to use a mixer. The eggs will come out much better if you rub them with a wooden spoon. At the end, adjust the taste of salt and pepper and add, depending on your preference, chopped onion.

As you can see, you don't have to eat sweet to be tasty. You can indulge just as well and in full Easter fasting. All you need is a little imagination and you will enjoy some fasting appetizers like you haven't tasted before.


In a large bowl, mix the lard well, along with the sugar and the two yolks, until smooth. Then add mineral water, vinegar, vanilla essence and salt powder. Sift the flour before use, then add it slowly while kneading the dough. After the dough has hardened and become easy to shape, cover and leave to rise in a cool place.

After about half an hour, put flour on the worktop and spread the dough, thicker or thinner, depending on your preferences. It is then cut into triangles, measuring 2-3 centimeters. Place the filling on the narrower side of the triangle, and roll it to the larger side.

Place the croissants on a tray lined with baking paper, in the preheated oven at 180 ° C, for 20-25 minutes until browned on top. They are rolled in powdered sugar while hot. The croissants will be a perfect dessert for the Easter meal.
