Greek meatballs "Keftedes" are a Mediterranean dish prepared from minced meat with vegetables, which are served cold with tzatziki sauce. In the original recipe, the meatballs are fried, but we decided to try the baked version. Children eat them with great pleasure!


-2 tablespoons tomato paste

1. In the minced meat, add the zucchini (best peeled) and grate it, cut the onion and garlic into small pieces.

2.Then add the breadcrumbs, tomato paste and eggs.

Cut the pitita in half and put 4 meatballs in each. Add a few slices of cucumber and lettuce and squeeze a little lemon juice on top. Sprinkle with yogurt and eat immediately.

6. Take 1 tablespoon of the composition, form the meatballs and fry them on a hot pan with oil over medium to low heat (if the pan has a thin bottom) or medium to large (if the pan has a thick bottom) for about 3-4 minutes, until nicely browned on both sides.
