Lentil Pate

Lentil Paste Ingredients

  1. Lentils 150 grams
  2. Onion 1 piece
  3. Carrot 1 piece
  4. Olive oil optional
  5. Lemon 1 piece (optional)
  6. Garlic 1 clove
  7. Olives (olives) 100 grams (optional)
  8. Paprika to taste
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Pepper to taste
  11. Thyme to taste

Cooking:

Step 1: Cook the lentils.


I have green lentils, so I pre-soaked it for about 4-5 hours in a little water. Then she changed the water, washed the lentils and boiled it in a pressure cooker for 10 minutes.
Focus on your lentils, you just need to boil it until soft. It is possible in an ordinary pan.
Drain excess water and cool cooked lentils.

Step 2: fry the vegetables.


Peel and grate the carrots, peel the onions and chop them into small cubes.
Sauté the vegetables in hot oil for 3-4 minutes to softness. Cool carrots with onions after frying.

Step 3: grind everything with a blender.


Mix boiled lentils with stewed vegetables.

Add salt, grated garlic, pepper, thyme and paprika.

Stir everything with a tablespoon.

And then beat with a hand blender. Beat until you get a thick, homogeneous mass.
To taste, but not necessarily, you can add lemon juice. If the mass is too dry, add vegetable oil or water in which the lentils were cooked. And be sure to check for salt and pepper at the end.

I also add chopped olives, but I don’t interrupt them with the rest of the mass, but leave them in pieces.

Step 4: serve the lentil paste.


Lentil paste can simply be spread on bread, very tasty sandwiches are obtained. And on the festive table, the pate can be rolled into balls and served as a cold snack. Try this lean dish for sure.
