Lentil cutlets

Ingredients for Cooking Lentil Cutlets

  1. Lentils 150 grams
  2. Onion 1 piece
  3. Carrot 1 piece (small)
  4. Parsley to taste
  5. Ginger (root) a small slice
  6. 2 cloves of garlic
  7. Dried caraway seeds 1-2 teaspoons
  8. Egg 1 piece
  9. Corn flour 1 tablespoon
  10. Wheat flour for breading
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Pepper to taste
  13. Olive oil for frying

Inventory:

Frying pan, spatula, plate, kitchen knife, grater, tablespoon, pan.

Cooking:

Step 1: Cook the lentils.


Rinse the lentils, fill with water and cook under the lid until half-cooked, i.e. about 12 minutes. Drain excess water, pour the croup into a deep plate.

Step 2: fry the vegetables.


Cut the onions into small cubes, grate the garlic or pass through a press and send the onions and garlic to fry in a pan. After a couple of minutes, add the grated ginger root to them and cook until the onions become transparent.

Add grated carrots to the onion with garlic and ginger.

Fry the vegetables, stirring, until soft.

Step 3: mix the lentils with vegetables.


Transfer vegetables from the pan to a plate with lentils. Add caraway seeds and chopped parsley, salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4: add the egg and starch.


Add the egg and corn flour to the mass (you can safely replace it with wheat flour if desired).

Mix all the ingredients, turning them into a homogeneous porridge-like mixture. Cover with cling film and refrigerate for an hour. After cooling, the mass will be easier to mold and fall apart less during frying.

Step 5: fry the lentil patties.


Heat oil in a frying pan, form patties from the lentil mass, roll them in flour and put them in a fry.

Cutlets are fried quickly, it is enough to literally hold them for a couple of minutes on each side so that they grab and become covered with a golden brown.

Step 6: serve the lentil patties.


Serve the lentil cutlets hot, along with them serve a salad of radishes, bell peppers, lettuce, green onions and pomegranate. Season everything with olive oil and spices and a wonderful healthy dinner for the whole family is ready.

- You can roll lentil patties before frying, not in flour, but in breadcrumbs.
