Chicken in Onion Sauce

Ingredients for Cooking Chicken in Onion Sauce

  1. Chicken fillet 2 pieces
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Ground black pepper to taste
  4. Granulated garlic to taste
  5. Ground sweet paprika to taste
  6. Onion 2 pieces (large size)
  7. Wheat flour 1 tablespoon
  8. Soft cheese with sheep milk 160 grams
  9. Chicken broth or water 1.5 cups
  10. Sour cream 30% fat 0.5 cup
  11. Green onion for serving
  12. Vegetable oil for frying

Frying pan, kitchen knife, cutting board, spatula, whisk, grater, cup.


Step 1: chop the chicken fillet.

Wash the chicken fillet, pat dry with paper towels and cut into thin strips. Pepper, salt, add paprika, granulated garlic and mashed spices on the meat.

Step 2: fry the chicken.

Heat the oil in a pan, and then fry the chicken in it until golden brown on all sides.
Remove the finished fillet from the pan and set aside for now.

Step 3: fry the onions.

Cut the onion into small cubes and fry it in the same pan in which the chicken was fried. Cook until transparent, stirring frequently.
Add the wheat flour and continue to fry, stirring with a spatula all the time.

Step 4: prepare the onion sauce.

Mix sour cream, broth or water and grated soft cheese in a cup.
Turn down the fire to slow.
Pour the resulting sauce into a pan to the onion, stirring constantly.
Continue cooking until the onion sauce has thickened to the desired consistency.
Add fried chicken to it and let it sit on a very low fire for a few more minutes, then you can serve the finished dish to the table.

Step 5: Serve the chicken in onion sauce.

Serve the chicken in onion sauce hot immediately after cooking, sprinkling it on top with finely chopped green onions. Something neutral is suitable as a side dish, rice, pasta or creamy mashed potatoes, for example. You can optionally sprinkle cheese on top.
