Bean Salad with Herring

Ingredients for Making Bean Salad with Herring

  1. Salted herring fillet 200 grams
  2. Canned white beans 1 can (240 grams)
  3. Bulgarian pepper 1.5 pieces (half red, green and yellow)
  4. Red onion 1 piece
  5. Lemon 1/2 pieces
  6. Carrot 1 piece
  7. Lettuce salad 1 piece
  8. Olive oil to taste
  9. Balsamic vinegar to taste

Inventory:

Salad bowl, kitchen knife, cutting board, plate, tablespoon.

Cooking:

Step 1: chop the herring.


Rinse herring fillet with cold water and dry, then cut the fish into thin strips or cubes.

Step 2: chop the vegetables.


Peel, wash and chop the carrots and peppers in thin strips, and red onion with feathers or half rings.
I also cut a few ringlets from the onion to decorate the finished salad with them on top.

Step 3: prepare the lettuce.

Rinse the lettuce and disassemble it into leaves. Lay the salad on a flat dish, it will be a kind of pillow and decor.

Step 4: mix vegetables with herring.

Mix chopped vegetables, herring and beans in a bowl (strain it from the liquid and rinse with water), add lemon juice, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Mix everything very carefully.

Step 5: put the salad on lettuce.


Put the ready-made salad on lettuce leaves and decorate the top with fresh herbs, herring rolls with lemon or, like me, onion rings.

Step 6: serve bean salad with herring.


Serve bean salad with herring as a snack or as an addition to main dishes. Tasty and very beautiful on the table. At the end of the feast, nothing will be left from the salad!

- Salt in this salad is not needed, as the fish is quite salty in itself.
