Potato casserole with fish

Ingredients for Cooking Potato Casseroles with Fish

  1. Fish fillet (any marine) 600 grams
  2. Potatoes 5-6 pieces
  3. Butter 100 grams
  4. Cheese 100 grams
  5. Dried herbs to taste
  6. Eggs 2 pieces
  7. Paprika to taste
  8. Lemon juice to taste
  9. Olive oil to taste

Cooking:

Step 1: prepare the fish.


Fish fillet should be thawed and washed. Dry it with towels, put on a plate, salt, pepper, add fragrant dried herbs and pour lemon juice. Add a little olive oil and grate the fillet with spices. Cover with foil and put in the fridge to marinate while preparing potatoes.

Step 2: boil the potatoes.


Peel, rinse, cut the potatoes in circles and send in boiling salted water for several minutes until it becomes soft.

Step 3: prepare mashed potatoes.


Drain the potatoes and crush the vegetables in a mashed potato crush. When the mashed potatoes cool slightly (so that the eggs do not curl), add cheese, butter and, in fact, chicken eggs. Mix well and pepper, salt the mashed potatoes to taste. Add herbs for flavor.

Step 4: lay the casserole layers.


Lubricate the mold with a small amount of oil and put the first layer of half mashed potatoes in it. Lay on top of it slices of fish fillet with the marinade in which they lay.

Put the remaining mashed potatoes on top of the fish fillet in a thick layer.
I wanted to sprinkle the top with breadcrumbs with the addition of Parmesan, but this is not necessary.

Step 5: bake potatoes with fish.


Bake at medium temperature until the mashed potatoes are set and covered with a brownish-golden crust. The fish fillet is cooked pretty quickly, but you can always check, just in case, whether it has been baked.

Step 6: serve the potato casserole with fish.


Before serving the potato casserole with fish, let it cool slightly, then cut it into slices and serve with tomato or garlic sauce. This full-fledged main course is suitable for both lunch and dinner.
